If you're looking for a small sized apple tree to bear delicious fruit, while also having the ability to grow almost anywhere, than look no further than the Perfect Plants Granny Smith Apple tree! Featuring a beautiful white bloom, as well as bearing fruit at an unusually young age, there's not a better option for your landscape or garden than the Granny Smith apple tree!Does not ship to AK, AZ, CA or HI

  • Produces edible fruit in your own backyard within first year. A Granny Smith apple tree will take 3 to 5 years to reach full maturity and bear fruit. Keep in mind that cross-pollination with other apple trees will improve your Granny Smiths ability to bear fruit.
  • The Granny Smith apple tree is disease-resistant for easier care. Our semi-dwarf variety of Granny Smith apple trees will grow to about 8 to 15 feet in height with anywhere from 8 to 15 feet of branch width. Their size makes them a great choice for small gardens and backyards. Granny Smith apple trees will grow best with full sunlight. Near-full sunlight (with partial shade) is also acceptable if you live in an especially hot climate in the southwest.
  • Originating in Australia around 1868 as a chance seedling by Maria Ann Smith. The flowers that blossom appear as deep pink, then open to form pink-edged white flowers. A true delight!
  • Delicious tart apples you'll love every season. Like many other types of apple trees, Granny Smith apple trees will bloom in the springtime. White flowers will emerge from your tree in April or May, with apples emerging in the fall. Expect dozens of ready-to-pick green apples in October and November.
  • Granny Smith apple trees are self-pollinators. This means that they are self-fertile, and dont require other adjacent trees to bloom and produce fruit. However, Granny Smith apple trees do best with a cross pollinator such as Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, or Fuji.
  • The juicy, white flesh with lovely, bright green skin (occasionally with a subtle, pink blush) is likewise energizing, with a crisp, tart flavor. Granny Smith Apples high acidity content makes them long-lived once cut, meaning they wont go brown as quickly. They are perfect for fruit trays and salads and also have a long shelf life.
  • Best growth occurs in USDA hardiness zones 5-9. Granny Smith apple tree requires 400 chill hours and prefers well-drained soil. The Granny apple tree grows best in full sun so when planting the tree be sure to pick a good spot. The first year it needs to have a regular watering schedule to establish a good root system.

    Apple Tree

Very pricey for the size. I actually purchased another tree from our local Amish farm for $34 and it was 2 feet taller and had small fruit already on the tree. I could have bought 3 trees for the price of this one and much larger.

The trees arrived and were perfect. They were exactly as described. Packaged for complete protection from shipping and handling. If I needed more trees would not hesitate to order more. They were shipped in a basket of soil and were over 5 ft tall with green leaves!

    Beautiful tree

Tree arrived in perfect condition, it has bloomed and has two small apples already forming. We bought another tree from a different store, it is almost a foot smaller and cost more. I will definitely buy from TSC again.
