Our orders ship Monday through Friday. Orders received after 1PM CST on Friday will ship the following Monday. If there are items that are not temperature sensitive in the same order as cold-ship items, we'll attempt to package and ship separately. The Perfect Plants Wax Leaf Ligustrum is a favorite wax plant among commercial and residential landscapes. With its beautiful foliage to go along with it's uniquely shaped and colored blooms, there's not a better wax flower plant out there!<ul><li>Plant this waxleaf ligustrum in full sun or partial shade, and prefers well-drained soil. It is drought tolerant but be sure to water well the first year of planting to establish a strong root system. Once established, it is also salt spray tolerant. Mulch with organic matter appropriately during the growing season to help maintain soil moisture as well as during winter to insulate the top inches of soil.</li><li>The Japanese Privet trees evergreen leaves have a glossy green shine which can make a beautiful garden radiate during the early summer. The Wax Ligustrum plant is a strong and sturdy plant that is low maintenance and will tolerate a variety of soil types.</li><li>The large green shrub or tree features lush dark green leaves and large clusters of creamy white flowers in the spring that last through summer. The wavy leaves are a few inches long. This fast growing shrub produces purple black berries after flowering that are a great source of food for birds and other wildlife!</li><li>The Chinese Privet tree can grow up to 10-15 feet tall and 10 15 feet wide and is often seen in a compact habit as a formal hedge screen, windbreak or foundation planting. This plant provides excellent privacy features as it has dense foliage.</li><li>Needing little wax leaf privet care other than pruning once or twice a year to keep the desired shape and size, the Wax Ligustrum tree is an excellent choice for creating a tall screen, a solid privacy hedge plant, or displaying a profusion of beautiful multi-trunk small evergreen trees. You can train the trunk to be a small standard tree too. It has many shape options and has often been pruned into topiary or small trees.</li><li>Little maintenance to shape it into the desired size making it easy to care for! This waxleaf privet ligustrum japonicum grows best across the United States in USDA hardiness zones 7-11 and has slight cold hardiness.</li><li>It is relatively free of pests and diseases but one problem that may arise is leaf spot. Avoiding overhead drip irrigation and removing diseased leaves will help maintain this privet shrub. A general purpose fertilizer such as our Slow Release Fertilizer applied during the growing season will help with any pest and disease problems as well. It is very easy to grow!
