This versatile ornamental grass can instantly transform any yard with its striking lavender-blue flower blossoms and fierce, spiky dark green foliage!
It features abundant blue flower spikes with blueish purple flowers that rise above its tufted grass like foliage from spring to summer. After the flowers bloom in early spring it is followed by clusters of black berries.
This blue liriope plant is best used as an evergreen ground cover plant, border plant or edging plant, or mass plantings. Monkey grass helps tackle weed growth and it generally very easy to grow.
This plant prefers moist, loamy soil and part shade areas, but will tolerate dry soil conditions once established. The liriope super blue for Florida is quite tough and is both heat, humidity, and drought tolerant during the summer months its also salt spray tolerant.
Its lavender flowers bloom best in a full sun location and resemble grape hyacinth. It will grow more dark green leaved grass in the shade. Make sure to provide well drained soil types.
