The Coffea Arabica is an edible compact evergreen shrub known for producing our favorite morning beverage. The coffee from the Arabica starts as small white fragrant flowers that bloom around three or four years after planting. Those flowers produce berries that resemble grapes in shape, size, and texture. The berries can be enjoyed as they are or de-pulped to retrieve the bean, then dried, roasted, and ground into coffee. Use a rich, well-draining, soil that contains organic matter, and place in bright sunlight if grown indoors. Best grown in USDA ZONES 10-12, but will perform well as an annual or house plant in all zones.
