Q: Is this what I need to make the Mr. Heater Buddy hose assembly work? Model# 273704. It's otherwise hooked securely to the heater and the 20 lb tank but no gas is exiting the tank although it works fine with 1 lb canisters.
4 years ago- A: Thank you for your inquiry. You do not need to use this Propane Acme Nut with the 10' Buddy Series Hose (F273704) to connect a Buddy Heater to a propane cylinder. The F273704 has a POL end that screws counter-clockwise into the valve on the propane cylinder and a 1" male throwaway cylinder thread end that connects into the regulator on a Buddy Heater. If you are not getting gas through F273704, it is most likely due to the excess-flow valve inside the POL connection on the hose being stuck. Close the cylinder, disconnect F273704 from the cylinder, and tap the brass POL connection on the end of the hose against the tank or ground 4-5 times to open the excess-flow valve back up. Lastly, re-connect the POL end to the cylinder and open the valve VERY slowly. It is recommended to do quarter-turn increments pausing for a split second in between turns until the valve is fully open. This should allow full flow of gas through the valve/hose. Have a great day!4 years agoHelpful?
Q: Does this still need to be used with a L.P. regulator, even if the gas heater has a regulated gas valve on it?
5 years ago- A: This Acme nut will replace the POL part of the regulator you already have. You do not need another regulator. It is a good idea to use a thread sealer made for propane gas on the threads of the Acme nut. I hope this helps.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can this assembly be disassembled? In other words, is this actually two (maybe, three, counting the washer) pieces. I only need the plastic nut for an older propane grill (Ducane) that uses non-standard (not current standards, anyway) threaded parts.
7 years ago- A: HI .... The ACME nut is designed according manufacturing specifications for safety and certification. Any alteration is prohibited and unadvisible.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: So this could not be used with a high pressure regulator?
8 years ago- A: Yes it can be used for the high pressure as well. thanks Rich Mr Heater8 years agoHelpful?
Q: Do I need a special tool to install this?
9 years ago- A: There is no special tool required to install this, have a great day!9 years agoHelpful?
