I have not used Miracle-Gro Perlite in a very long time. The 8 qt bag will last me all planting season. I use cattle buckets on the farm and have a few plants on the porch all Spring/Summer. You can tell a difference when using this product because the soil does not compact as the season evolves. If you make your own potting soil this product is nice to have coverage is simple and easy, good drainage after a rain. I mix mine in a wheel barrel and fill up the buckets, then add seeds or plants. I like how it will improve drainage and aeration for my tomato, zucchini and green bean potted plants as well as my zinnias in the ground. Thank You Influenster.

Can you ever go wrong with miracle gro!?!? This mixture really helped get my pots filled as it’s a lighter mix. Truly great for drainage! I’m excited for spring to see my flowers bloom and blossom!!

I've been using perlite for a while now to root my plants, and it's honestly been a game changer. Before adding it, maybe 1/3 of my cuttings would take using just potting soil. After switching to perlite for propagation, my success rate improved so much. I was really excited to receive these from Influenster because it's something I already use and trust. I've also learned perlite is a must-have for container gardening, especially with vegetables. It improves drainage and helps prevent root rot, which can ruin all your hard work if your soil stays too wet. This is super easy to grow cuttings or regular plants in pots. I often have issues with soil being too hard and needing to loosen is up. This perlite mixed in with soil will enhance drainage and help with plant growth. I usually use one container to moisten the perlite for one potting session, then drain the perlite and split the moistened perlite among several pots , add soil and repot my plants. They are growing much better. Soil does not clump, the substrate is easy to use and does not soil the surface during repotting and very light. But I usually use a mix of a handful of perlite to a small to medium pot.
