The Marathon Motors 3-1/2 HP Electric Air Compressor Motor is made to get the job done right. This air compressor motor can be used for commercial and residential air compressors, fans, dairy and poultry equipment and table saws. The capacitor start/capacitor run design of the air compressor motor reduces the amperage needed. The electric air compressor motor has manual reset thermal protection and a rigid base. Made with carbon steel, this compressor motor is designed for durability and strength.

- A: Hello Neighbor, The short answer is yes, this motor will operate on 208v. Most motors are usually rated to run at +-10% voltage, so this falls within that range, however we would not recommend doing so due to the potential for reduced performance, lifespan, and overheatinga year agoHelpful?

- A: According to factory the 9040 is not to be run with a generator. The motor will run on a generator But will shorten the life of the motor a lot. It will blow out the start & run capacitors. This also voids warranty.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Motor says its CW rotation. Is the rotation direction viewed from the output shaft end or the connection end (what I would call the rear) of the motor? Hoping the CW rotation is viewed from the rear.

Warning wired for 220v

Even though the box started it was a 120v replacement motor, it was wired for 220v. I notice a slow start and no power. Immediately turned it off. Was able to rewire with diagrams of side of motor.

Bought it to replace old motor compressor then just end up buying brand new compressor instead motor probably would’ve worked pump was bad
