Q: Does this exactly match CUB CADET 788S04021?
2 months ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! No, Majic Cub Cadet Yellow (often sold as part 8-20955) is designed as a match for OEM Cub Cadet yellow, but it is not an exact 1:1 formulation match for the official OEM Cub Cadet 788S04021. While it is a popular, lower-cost alternative, aftermarket paints may have slight shade or luster variances. OEM Part 788S04021: This is the official "Cub Cadet Yellow 2" 12oz spray paint.2 months agoHelpful?
Q: Is primer needed?
a year ago1 Answer
- A: Hi Neighbor! Always use a primer whenever possible before working with enamel paint. Paint that is applied without a primer base is more susceptible to running, cracking and flaking.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Is this the right yellow for a 1965 cub? Or is this the newer ones?

- A: This will match the newer models.a year agoHelpful?
Q: Does this cover rust?
4 years ago1 Answer
- A: Majic Tractor Truck & Implement Enamels are tough & durable industrial alkyd coatings that deliver excellent adhesion, corrosion resistance and resistance to impact and abrasion. That said, active rust should be removed by sanding, grinding, wire-brushed or blasted to clean steel – all exposed, or bare steel surfaces should be primed with Majic Tractor, Truck & Implement Rust-Inhibiting Primer (in either Red Oxide, or Sandable Gray). For best results, tightly adhering rust (that cannot be removed by the above means), should be neutralized, or “converted” with an acid based converter, or appropriate metal pre-treatment solution - before priming. When applying Majic Tractor & Implement Coatings, please read & follow all package directions carefully – with special attention to the recommended applied thickness of coatings (3.0-3.5 mils wet for primers, and 2.6-3.0 mils wet for finish enamels), and to the allowable re-coat time of alkyd products (24 hours minimum) – as to heavy an application, and/or re-coating too soon will result in a film that won’t dry “hard” for several days…or longer.4 years agoHelpful?
Q: I heard TSC is discontinuing the Majic Cub Cadet Yellow, is this true? I certainly hope not as it's good paint and I use it all the time on my Cubs.

Q: I bought gloss black spray can. Will this paint work well on a hard fiberglass truck bed cover?
5 years ago2 Answers
- A: It will but you need to prep the fiberglass first and always wear a dust mask and eye protection when dealing with fiberglass. First wash the area clean using a soapy solution of a product like Dawn and warm water the allow to dry. Then scuff it with medium grit sand paper, wipe down it with tack cloth to remove all dust, clean it with a chemical like acetone, prime it with primer made for wood/fiberglass then paint. Allow plenty of time for primer to cure before spraying top coat. Follow the can's directions closely and you should have an acceptable finish.5 years agoHelpful?

It is not the right yellow for a Cub Cadet. It dries lighter than the actual yellow.

Junk

The spray nozzle sticks. Wouldn't even let the paint out . Even tried some other nozzles I got . Would only spray for a while then would come spewing out all over. Save your money, buy Rustoleum Golden Sunset , pretty close match and you can spray it on without problems.
