Q: Will this work with aluminum
5 years ago1 Answer
- A: Painting aluminum with an oil/alkyd coating can be a tricky application – aluminum is a slick, and dense surface that gives little for an oil/alkyd coating to “bite” into for a good mechanical adhesion. To paint aluminum, the surfaces must be clean & dry, and bare aluminum should be sanded (with a medium grit paper), or etched (with a 50/50 vinegar + water solution), before painting. For best results, bare aluminum should be primed with a self-etching primer, or other primer designated for use with aluminum, before applying Majic Camo Paint. Be sure to follow manufacturer’s directions for application details including allowable re-coat times.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can you use it on plastic like for a Jeep Wrangler hard top
7 years ago1 Answer
- A: A: Painting plastic can be a difficult task as some plastics are considered paintable (ABS,PVC, styrene, polyester, acrylic, and more), and other plastics are not (PE, HDPE, PP, HDPP, teflon, nylon and more). It is necessary to first determine the type of plastic used, and if paintable, make sure the surface is clean, and free of all oil, grease, dirt, and other surface contaminants that will inhibit the coating’s ability to “penetrate” and adhere tightly to the plastic surface. Dirt, dust, etc. may be removed by scrubbing surface with a mild, phosphate free, detergent & water solution, then rinsed with clean water and allow to dry. Grease, oil, wax etc. may be removed by solvent wiping surface with Mineral Spirits and allowed to dry. Next, abrade the surface by sanding, with a medium-fine grit paper, to create a “profile” for a greater mechanical bond with primer. Remove any sanding dust. Optional: Before priming, treating plastic with Majic Plastic Adhesion Promoter (#8-20050), in strict accordance to package directions, will help to provide a stronger adhesion to surface. Following preparation, prime surface with 1 thin coat of Majic Tractor & Implement Red Oxide, or Sandable Gray Primer – allow to dry thoroughly (minimum 24 hours) before top-coating with 1 or 2 thin coats of Majic Camo Aerosol. I hope this info is helpful, please remember the critical steps to successfully painting plastic is to (a) first determine the type of plastic, (b) conduct proper & thorough surface preparation, and (c) apply appropriate primers and finish is strict accordance to the product’s label & Tech Data Sheets instructions (with special attention to the recommended applied thickness, and allowable re-coat times).7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Will paint work on a vinyl seat cushion
7 years ago1 Answer
- A: A vinyl seat cushion is too soft of a substrate to paint with a hard-drying, protective coating such as Majic Camo Paint – ultimately the film would crack and possibly de-laminate. Painting resilient, flexible vinyl with Majic Camo Paint is NOT recommended.7 years agoHelpful?
Q: Can the Majic Clear Coat High Gloss Lacquer be sprayed over the camouflage paint to produce a gloss finish? Are the paints compatible?
7 years ago1 Answer
- A: Unfortunately, we cannot recommend Majic Clear Coat High Gloss Lacquer be applied over Majic Camo Paints, as the risk of a reaction (between the solvents of Majic Clear Coat & the resin structure of Majic Camo) is too great. Even if an immediate reaction (in terms of wrinkling, or lifting) were not realized, the film lifespan, and long-term protective properties (corrosion, impact & abrasion resistance) could be compromised by doing so.7 years agoHelpful?

Great Camo Spray Paint
I painted parts of my M925A2 5-ton Cargo Truck (military surplus) and I am pleasantly surprised. The paint sprayed nicely and evenly. It did not atomize and turn to powder like other brands. I sprayed it right where my exhaust mounts on to the truck after thorough surface prep (degrease/sand/wash/scuff). Despite the heat, it is adhering very well. I got quite a bit of coverage from it with 2 coats. I will be ordering lots more of this paint to eventually paint the entire truck. My one and only complaint is the price. I would prefer around $6.00 per can because that's what a competitor is charging for their camo paint.

Absolute garbage. Do not buy.
I purchased two cans of this camouflage spray paint and both clogged up and stopped working within 10 seconds of spraying. I tried three different solvents on the spray tip and the cans but neither can would work again. I even tried using a similar spray nozzle from another product and it would not work either, though the nozzle worked when I put it back on it's original can. This product is worthless junk. Do not waste your money.
No, I do not recommend this product.
