Strengthen and protect your horse's hooves by using some of this Keratex Hoof Hardener. Sold in a 250 mL bottle, this product can be used on unshod and shod hooves. It prevents cracks and hoof breakage, while still allowing the feet to breathe. Keratex Hoof Hardener is suitable for the following applications: weak hooves, horses that are worked barefoot, brood mares, foals and yearlings and soft soles prone to bruising.How it Works

This product works by strengthening the soles' and hoof horns' molecular structures through the cross-linking of keratin. Because there is not a surface-coating residue left behind, the feet can still "breathe" appropriately. Improvement will be quickly noticeable.

  • A: Hello! Thank you for your inquiry, Keratex Hoof Hardener can be applied to the sole as well as the hoof wall. Be sure to avoid the frog, the bulbs of the heel and the coronary band.

Love the idea, not sure if it makes a difference

I've used Keratex Hoof Hardener for several different horses and application-wise I do like it much better than other hoof products. One bottle goes a long way, and it dries quickly without attracting dust. That said, as with a lot of supplements and hoof care products, it's hard for me to tell if it genuinely improves the horse's feet.

Great for sheep hoof issue

This was recommended to me by our vet after treating a lamb with antibiotics for hoof rot. It worked really well too harden her hoof back up and help her heal.
