I'm impressed by how easily it locks at any length. Additionally, it reminds very smooth and hose is guided side to side like a bait caster fishing reel, giving an even spool. The spring is strong enough to keep the hose off of the ground while rewinding even with the hose fully extended and having the reel mounted only 2ft. above the floor. With the hose extended 50ft., there was still 1 more round on the reel. The swivel range is only 75° both ways only giving you 150° swivel. If mounted to a wall it will be nearly 11" from the wall when fully pivoted to either side. The lead hose is only 2ft.- 4in. unlike the Q&A answer of 3ft. You could purchase an extention hose, otherwise the compressor will be directly next to the reel. I added a 90° elbow at the compressor to reduce hose fatigue. I do love this hose reel but wanted to point out its limits. I hope that this review is helpful.

Automatic hose guiding system is the game changer!

I bought this to replace my frustrating old hose reel and I liked it so much I bought another for the other side of my shop. The Automatic hose guiding system is the main reason. My reel sits in a corner and when rewinding the old one would just rewind the hose all on one side. This one moves it back and forth so it all fits and goes all the way in. The hybrid hose is flexible. I don't have a Flexzilla, so I don't know how it compares, but it is very flexible and works great and the price is better!
