Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don’t waste you money or loose your birds Terrible coop way too small. Didn’t come with all the pieces and you have to put a bottom on it to make it raccoon safe. Very cheap paint coming off in first two weeks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is my 2nd purchased of this coop This coop is easy to put together. I applied a coat of polyurethane, as suggested to add a protective coat to the wood. My coop holds 8 layer hens. Fairly easy to clean out. I use pine shavings and hay for the nesting boxes and tray, for easy cleanout and odor refresher. The hens love to look out the window. I love the fact that many of the coops I looked at did not have a window, only screen to cover the window area. There is an area on the back for easy access to the eggs. I just usually collect them from the window area. With fox, opossum, hawks, snakes, coyote in the area, this coop has protected the hens from the predators. The coop is stylish in appearance, and protects my flock from the harsh weather. I wish that the coops came with an option to add wheel, thus turning it into a chicken tractor.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Chicken Coop Bought for my 12 year old daughter to raise 4 chicks. She picked it out, and the design is so cute! It went together very well, and we love the coop! It does need some treated wood on the bottom to protect from termites and rotting. It also needs a good coat of paint which it says in the instructions!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from So cute! I just love the look of my coop. It was easy to put together but I had to add some drill holes.

Is this coop good for ducks? I have two ducks and want to build a coop, but if this works...

Asked by: Wiizel
The ramp is fairly steep and typically ducks are not inclined to climb up a ramp.

Is this recommended to be placed on grass or soil? Are there anchors?

Asked by: PeachyKeens
This can be placed on grass or soil. The most important thing is that the ground is perfectly level. Anchors are not included. If you live in a area with high winds, you will want to provide addtional protection.

Can you install this on a hill? And if so how? One answer said it must be perfectly level so I'm concerned as we live on a hill.

Asked by: Maverick112
This coop must be assembled on perfectly level ground.

What product is recommended for wood protection against uv rays and basic weather elements rain light snow etc.  I do not live in a extreme environment  area.  I called thompsons  and they said they do not recommend their products for painted wood.

Asked by: CoopNC
You could either use a clear polyurethane or paint the wood. Then maintain as you would any other outdoor wood furniture in your climate.

Should this be placed on blocks or anything to keep it it off the ground.

Asked by: RickyPJr
It can be built on the ground. Some customers prefer to keep it off the ground and build it that way.

Asked by: Jill Nichols
We do not recommend using a heat lamp due to the high risk of fire.

I just purchased the coop and I would like to put an automatic door opener on it. Any recommendations???

Asked by: Laura Nelson
Unfortunately, we do not manufacture automatic doors. I would contact the manufacturer of that product and ask for recommendations and requirements.
