IR compressor

I would like to give it a 5 star rating. Unfortunately after the installation the compressor only came on once. The pressure switch was not working properly. Emailed the IR costumer service to get the warranty enrollment. After that told them the issue of the compressor not able to build up the pressure. The IR representative gave me a San Antonio company to troubleshoot the compressor. Called the company they responded was we will fix it just pay for mileage from San Antonio to Victoria or have a license electrician install switch. We elected for the electrician so they are mailing a new switch. I believe this is an isolated situation but still you would hope something new and for the price would have no issues.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Lots of air at a good price

So far it has been a great compressor. The staff was very helpful and friendly through the process and loading went fairly smooth - only two little forklift bumps in the tailgate but no damage. I replaced an older 60 gallon compressor and did a lot of comparison and shopping. I landed on this compressor and have been happy and haven't had any issues so far. There are a few things I did before I set mine up that I would do regardless of other reviews. I changed the bottom tank drain for easier access and the thumb turn that comes with the unit is difficult to operate. Before adding oil, I added a nipple and 45 degree fitting with the original plug to make changing the oil much less messy. How I have my compressor set up, I needed to change the location of the pressure gauge so it can be visible and since I was doing that, I replaced it with a larger fluid filled gauge that is much more resistant to vibration. Also, due to my setup, I removed the ball valve on the side and added a 90 degree fitting and new larger ball valve to tie into my shop air lines with a 3/4" flexible hose. I added rubber isolator adjustable feet, SO cord, plug end and fired it up. It is a little quieter and a different tone than my other compressor and runs very well. The extra capacity is great. I purchased the extended warranty due to some other reviews I read for extera insurance but for the cost of the unit on sale with the warranty it was much less than the MAXAIR I was planning on purchasing through the internet. It is working very well supplying plenty of air and keeping up with all my tools. I will end up adding a DIY dryer out of the pump before the tank with a water separator to reduce moisture from entering the tank but that's typical on any air compressor. Thanks Tractor Supply for the compressor and being so friendly loading.
