We bought this pump two years ago, but *really* used it this past summer. We're working on adding a bigger pump for irrigation, but this has been our workhorse, and it's done an amazing job. We've probably put around 200 hours on it and pushed through many thousands of gallons of water (filled our 1000 gallon tank over ten times, not to mention all the hookups to sprinklers). And yes, it pushes the volume and pressure advertised. We blew the wall out of a brand-new Goodyear professional garden hose when we accidentally closed too many valves irrigating. We've run it with the PTO kit on the back of our tractor, as well as a rig I made to run it off of our garden tractor and lawn tractor. (Put a 7" pulley on the input shaft of the pump, put it on a horizontal frame in front of the smaller tractors.) We're running it on clean well water, and drain it and spray some WD-40 in it after each use. Still running like new!

These cast iron pumps only last me a year (on my 3rd). I spray about 36 times a year with mostly fungicides. The pumps will rust out from the inside regardless what's used, simply because they are cast iron. Save your money on the stainless!!
