The stove boards are essential wood burning accessories that can be used beneath wood burning appliances or on the wall behind them to protect floors and walls from intense heat. The Hy-C 36 x 36 in. Slate Tile Stove Board provides non-combustible thermal and ember protection for floors and walls from the intense heat, hot coals, ashes and soot that wood burning appliances can produce. The construction is embossed printed steel and 1/2 in. thick, specially formulated fiber board backing. The HY-C connector kit (Model #ULCK) and wall spacer kit (model #ULSK) sold separately to connect multiple stove boards and to install the stove board as a wall shield.

- A: When using the Type 2 HY-C Stove Board / Floor Protector / Wall Shield / Ember Protector as a wall shield, it is to be installed to provide continuous protection from at least 3 inches below the ceiling and at least 1 inch above the floor. **CAUTION**: Maintain a 3 inch minimum air space between the top of the Wall Shield and the ceiling. When using a Type 2 HY-C Stove Board / Floor Protector / Wall Shield / Ember Protector as a wall shield, as described here, the minimum clearance to the back wall marked on a UL Listed solid fuel room heater, may be reduced by a maximum of 58%, providing the reduced controlling clearance was not less than 12 inches. Controlling clearance is the minimum clearance, which locates that part of the room heater assembly (chimney connector or back of unit) closest to combustible construction. Example: 36 inches required could be 15 inches.2 years agoHelpful?

- A: You'll need one that's slightly wider than your stove. Generally speaking, most stoves require about 8" of space away from the sides of your stove, and about 18" measured from the door on the front of your stove. However, we do suggest to check the manual of your stove, as most stove manuals will list the minimum floor pad requirements2 years agoHelpful?
