The Husqvarna 24 in. Drop-Forged Steel Utility Axe with Fiberglass Handle is a 24 in. splitting axe that is suited for splitting firewood logs. The axe head has a non-stick coating which reduces friction while cutting. The fiber-reinforced shaft with a stainless steel component protects the handle while ensuring a long product life. This durable axe was designed for perfect balance and weight distribution. This wood tool can be used as a hammer in conjunction with regular splitting wedges (no steel wedges).

Best axe there is

good balance modern materials

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Mine weighs 3 pounds two ounces and says 1,400g 60cm on the head. The bigger one was out of stock. Kind of hollow ground shape to the blade, pretty sharp. Metal protector shows no damage from impact due to wood impact, split farther in where the blade hit. Hopefully don't run the hollow end over. Kind of blister inducing the orange vs grey areas where one grabs it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

bulletproof little axe

this axe is a little too short to be of much use for me, but it's a super tough axe and perfect for leaving in your vehicle since it doesn't have a wood handle. get the 28 inch handle version if you want a very capable all-round work axe. it's close to being a 20° flat wedge. it chops and splits well. good steel and the fiberglass handle has no shock as far as I can tell; very comparable to a thin hickory handle. if husqvarna would make one of these with a 30 inch handle and a 5.5 inch bit, I'd be all over it
