The Hooyman 125LB Vehicle Spreader features innovation, durability, and effort-free spreading all in one. The feed rate adjustment lever allows the user to throw various seed sizes ranging from fine clover to larger seed, fertilizer, and salt granules. The media gate lever allows the operator to start and stop the media flow with a simple pull or push. The speed control knob adjusts the speed of the proprietary curved fin throwing disc giving unmatched throwing distance and even media coverage. The Vehicle Spreader includes a 2" hitch mount but its optional rack and winch mounts make this unit completely universal. The Hooyman Vehicle Spreader also comes with a 12V accessory plug, ring terminal connection, and an alligator clip power cord.

Almost a great spreader.

So this spreader is almost perfect, except for one big flaw. I love engineers, but sometimes they miss the biggest point that just absolutely blows my mind. So this spreader is made for ATV’s and UTV’s. They actually call it a vehicle spreader. And it works perfectly on ATV because you can reach back to the motor on/off switch. The problem is that switch is mounted to the spreader, which is absolutely impossible to reach from the cab of a UTV. So what you end up doing is turning it on and watching it spread your material while you run to get back in the buggy to takeoff. 😂. I mean what idiot forgot that important point. lol.
On the positive side they give you three power cords, so I’m gonna take one of them and put a cigarette lighter on it with a built in on/off switch. That way you can turn it on and off from the cab. I guess for $500 you would think they could afford a seven dollar lighter switch. lol.
It is a great spreader though so it’s worth making the modification
