The Hooyman 125LB Vehicle Spreader features innovation, durability, and effort-free spreading all in one. The feed rate adjustment lever allows the user to throw various seed sizes ranging from fine clover to larger seed, fertilizer, and salt granules. The media gate lever allows the operator to start and stop the media flow with a simple pull or push. The speed control knob adjusts the speed of the proprietary curved fin throwing disc giving unmatched throwing distance and even media coverage. The Vehicle Spreader includes a 2" hitch mount but its optional rack and winch mounts make this unit completely universal. The Hooyman Vehicle Spreader also comes with a 12V accessory plug, ring terminal connection, and an alligator clip power cord.

    Total and absolute JUNK. Here are the reasons why: 1. Motor on spreader is very weak......ANY drag on the spinner or inside auger, and it will not turn......you have to play with it to get it to work. 2. Hopper is NOT a sealed unit. The side trim is only held on with expansion bushings that just push thru holes in the side of the hopper. Water, including condensation can get in there. In my case, I was spreading salt for my driveway......... had another storm, went to use the spreader and the auger inside was frozen solid where the salt had gotten wet, and hardened like concrete. Take everything out by hand, chop away the salt from the auger and start over. Now I will silicone all the holes and hopefully this will not happen again, but I believe even condensation will cause it to happen again, unless I empty the hopper each time I use it. 3. Maybe if you are spreading seed, but for winter work, the unit does not put enough down no matter how much you open it to do the job. They recommend #3 or #4 for what I am using. Not a chance does that work for ice melt. I am almost wide open, and it just about works if I go 1 mph......anything faster with my machine, and I am just wasting money. 4. Anybody that mounts this on a cabbed machine needs to wire in a remote switch as I did. In and out a million times for on and off is such a pain. Include a remote switch, even if is a toggle, on/off with the kit. How much could that cost? 5 I really wanted this unit to work well. Honestly for my application it fails misserably. I hate taking things back, but I am going to speak to Tractor Supply and see what they will do for me........at almost $500 with tax, the unit should work better than this. Is it a "Salt Dog" or "Fisher", no, and for the cost I did not expect it to be. But it should work, and it does not.............so I would recommend, don't buy this unit unless you are using it for the lightest of work, or spend more and buy a proven spreader. This one is not that.
