- A: Hi Neighbor! This could potentially be used to spread salt but it is not recommended. Salt tends to clump up which can clog the motor, causing damage, which will void the warranty. - A: The AS-80ATV12 Receiver Mount Spreader is meant to be used to spread grass seed, fertilizer and small grain. We would not recommend using this item to spread powdered lime as it would be difficult to control the spreading rate. Lime is also corrosive and would increase the risk of damaging the spreader if not cleaned properly after each use. If the lime clumps up in the impeller, this could also damage the motor.7 years agoHelpful?

Only draw back is that the cable and switch wire are not long enough to mount on my Kawasaki mule dash.

The system sits on the back of my side-by-side and the battery is in the front of the vehicle. The wire is far too short. How do you fix this?

So far so good. Solid materials. Motor was not spinning very fast. Had to loosen four bolts on the motor mount to adjust the motor shaft that was rubbing. I believe this was due to shifting while being shipped. Throws lawn fertilizer 15-20 feet.

Thanks to Field Tuff and Influenster for providing me with this free product in exchange for my review.
This is a bit less sturdy than the last one we had. It gets the job done but my husband had to make some adjustments. It is kind of messy too. I would tell potential buyers to consider other options, considering the MSRP for these.
