We like this Staple because of the barbed characteristic. It stays better and harder to come off of the wood. We recommend it for sure.

I have done a lot of fencing in my time. The barbs really add to the holding power. When using staples one should never place the two points of the staple in the same grain-line of wood … otherwise as weathering of the wood takes place the staples will come loose. If one combines cross-grain placement plus the barbs these should hold a wire for years to come.

I wanted a long staple with barbs to string some wire. The big box stores had staples,but none with barbs. Without the barbs is a waste of time and money. These were galvanized. There were a few staples that were not complete, but very few.
