Harvest Lane Honey Beehive Solid Bottom Board is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not functional. I bought this bottom board and the entrance reducer from Harvest Lane. The boards around the sides and back are not the same height as the entrance reducer, they are shorter. The entrance reducer is normal size, but their bottom board is incompatible. I bought things from the same company assuming they would work together.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great price This was a great price for a simple bottom board. .

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure yet? Having just bought and set it up, not enough time to know how it stands up to rain/elements? There is zero instructions/info included. So does this NEED to be printed/painted? Is it percoated with anything at all, or is it just bare wood? (A simple piece of paper saying its ok to not paint, or it needs to be painted/coated would be helpful.). Also, the side pieces dont seem to be as high as a normal bottom board, leaving a smaller opening/entrance for the bees. I dont think I could use a normal reducer board across the bottom, as opening isnt standard size. (Again, this could be explained or mentioned by manufacturer at time of purchase on item description, and or a slip of paper in the box.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from poor materials used top set at 3/8 inch, not reversible which is easy to do. The board on the front was worse than one from a pallet, they really should have not used it. Functionally because I have some carpentry skills it was used because I was in a time crunch. Had to fix it myself

Do these need to be painted? Is the wood already coated with something to prevent from rotting?

Asked by: BeeGood
Solid bottom boards are not treated with anything. Bottom boards can last up to 10 years without being treated. If you decide to treat, we recommend painting (2 coats of exterior paint) only the exposed sides and landing.
