GroundWork Weed & Feed Lawn Fertilizer, 23-0-7, 50 lb. is rated 2.1 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from It works but inconsistently Sept 4 applied lime, 10lbs/1000sf Sept 4 applied Ground Works 23-0-7, 100lbs/17,000sf Sept 5 mowed the grass high. Sept 6 - 10, rain (sometimes heavy) I chose it because my soil analysis called for low phorsphorus and potassium - weed killer was a bonus. It was hard to set the application rate on my Scotts Speedy Green 3000 broadcast spreader. The fertilizer is a mixture of pellets and fibrous material. It recommended setting spreader at #6, I had to increase it to #11 to avoid clogging.I spread 75 pounds on approx. 17,000 SF (4.4lbs/1000sf vs recommended 3.3lbs/1000sf). With 25lbs left over, I circulated again with the extra, mainly over areas that were cheated by clogging. The results seemed to be too quick. Before it rain the next day, some violets appeared to be turning yellow. Followed by 5 days of rain (sometimes heavy), the following weeds were dying -- creeping charlie ( ground ivy), strawberries, violets, knotweed (lady's thumb). However, a major section of the weed patch would die but leave a small portion on the edge to survive. A week later, most violets survived. I did not have many broadleaf weeds to begin with. Some tender shade glass looks weaker after fertilizing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works great so far... I bought this on a Saturday, I mowed and aerated my yard and then put this down. On Sunday it rained and was perfect so i didnt water. Monday morning and afternoon I noticed many more dandelions but by 6:30pm they had all died off. Amazing!!!!! I cant believe after 24 hours all the dandelions were gone and the grass looks great! So relieving! Its only been 2 days, I will leave more feedback if anything changes.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Will not spread I guess the stuff I bought was stored outside. I tried 3 spreaders and it wont spread. It sticks in the spreader. A huge waste of my time.

I'm noticing after this has been applied for 5 days that some of my actual blade grass is yellowing. This is not broadleaf, weeds or dandelions that i'm talking about. My grass is looking burned in areas.

Is this effective for pre emergent and emergent weed control? Also, what temperature does it work best at? I'm in Michigan and have a couple 60+ days then, rain.

Asked by: Myomel
This product is post emerge for broadleaf weeds, it needs to be actively growing in order to be able to uptake the pesticide into their system. It must be applied to damp turf (after a dew or light watering). No rainfall must occur for 1 day after application. For serious weed outbreaks 2 split applications might be needed.
