When you wind the barrel one way, it screws in and if you spin it the other way, the barrel falls off. Awful design flaw that TSC won’t issue a refund for. Gotta weld it.

I bought this hose reel three years ago. The first year it was great, and helped me keep 200 feet of hose together in one place and yet be portable for use all around my property. The second year I noticed a small leak from the aluminum water inlet. This year the reel has gone from a hose reel to a high volume water sprinkler. After taking the water inlet apart I saw the O-rings were worn flat. No big deal as these parts are meant to be replaced as routine maintenance. HOWEVER, when looking through the bore of this part I can see the aluminum that the O-rings contact is very pitted and probably not salvageable. Using aluminum for this part is a design flaw. It should have been made of brass like the part holding the O-rings. I tried to attach photos of these parts, but the website was not allowing it. I called customer support and they are sending me a new assembly. Since the part is unusable after three years, the longevity for this hose reel is the same as the much cheaper plastic hose reels. If you are not handy and don't have the ability to do repairs on this item, save yourself over $100 and buy a plastic one that you can throw in the trash after three years.

So I am guessing, I purchased someones return, because it was fully assembled When you unwind the hose, the drum comes off. Where the hose hooks up it is threaded and as long as you unwind the hose it unthreads from the fitting. What a piece of junk. I will not shop at Tractor Supply any more Clearly they put a fully assembled unit that was returned out on the floor or did they have an employee put it together incorrectly. Either way now I have to go through and return it. I am done with Tractor supply.

Have had cart for 3 years. I had to buy replacement bolts that fell out. I can fit 200’ of 3/4” hose. Tips over when cranking up the hose. Falls over when pulling off hose.
