Works Great

Worked as described. Drilled 3 holes, filled to the top. 5 weeks latter, poured kerosene and lit. Burned all the way to the tips of the roots. Product not available anywhere else.

What the ad doesn't tell you -

Incomplete directions on Tractor Supply website. Only after reading the fine print on the container did I find out that I am supposed to DRILL 1" holes into the tree stump. Then I'm supposed to pour KEROSENE into those holes, let it soak, apply the chemical powder, then LIGHT IT ON FIRE! NO WAY!

Good stuff! Not reformulated like other brands

Its good stuff. A lot of stump removers have reformulated to sodium metabisulfite which decomposes dtjmps slower via a different reaction. This is good ol potassium nitrate. Which provids a couple different options to get rid of the stump

Very Effective with Time, Effort, and Safety

This worked great on an invasive shrub, which previous homeowners allowed to grow uncontrollably. After cutting the shrub to a low stump, it continued to grow shoots - even after multiple herbicide killers. I followed the directions and drilled TWO sets of holes (two verticle holes offset from center and two diagonal holes on opposites sides of the stump). I applied the product, waited five weeks, and the applied kerosene. After another two days, I applied a "healthy" amount of charcoal lighter fluid and allowed it to soak in and mostly dissipate. NOTE - I surrounded the stump with rocks to mitigate any fire from spreading. I lit the stump on fire, the stump burned with a small flame for several minutes (I used lighter fluid as the final fuel, rather than kerosene) and it smoldered for a few days. I was surprised each morning to see how much the stump had "magically" disappeared overnight. The stump soldered right down to the groundline. Interestingly, the roots from the shrub continue to produce shoots, but the lawnmower easily handles the problem. Overall, this is an effective product if you put in the time, effort, and safety meeasures.

Yes, I recommend this product.
