The Gordon's 1 gal. Brush Killer for Hard-to-Kill Brush gives you effective control of the toughest species of brush. Ideal for pastures, hedgerows, roadside ditches, farmsteads, and other non-crop areas, this herbicide penetrates the leaves, woody stems and cut surfaces of the plant and then moves through the vascular system for effective control. One gallon of concentrated brush killer yields up to 64 gallons of spray solution. Visual symptoms usually appear in 1-3 weeks.

  • Gordon's brush killer is formulated specifically to kill hard-to-control brush
  • 3 powerful active ingredients (2,4-D ester, Triclopyr ester and dicamba) assure exceptional performance
  • Controls 50+ listed brush species, including mesquite, kudzu, blackberry and multi-flora rose
  • Ideal for pastures, hedgerows, roadside ditches, farmsteads and other non-crop areas

Q: how soon can I plant a new shrub after killing the previous one? I cut the roots and pulled out the bushes then painted this brush killer on the remaining roots and left uncovered/exposed. How soon can I plant new hydrangeas and evergreens in that area?>

  • Product Specialist
A: The reseeding interval for grass is a minimum of 3 weeks. The label does not speak to ornamental replanting. We recommend reaching out to your local county extension office for suggestions or soil testing to ensure a safe replanting interval.

Q: Will this work on wisteria

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, Gordon's 1 gal. Brush Killer for Hard-to-Kill Brush is effective against wisteria because it contains triclopyr, a systemic herbicide specifically recommended for controlling woody vines. To successfully eliminate this aggressive plant, you should apply it as a cut-stump treatment by cutting the main vine and immediately painting the concentrate onto the fresh cut, or use it as a foliar spray during the growing season.

Q: Will it kill bamboo?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Bamboo is not included on the product’s list of controlled species, and this formula is designed for broadleaf and woody brush, not grasses. Since bamboo is a type of grass, products containing triclopyr, 2,4-D, and dicamba are generally not effective for controlling or killing it.
