If something isn't broke, don't fix it. So WHY did you screw with the Gamma Lid design?! I've used Gamma Lids since they first came out, and I buy them by the case. This last case purchased through Azure was Gamma2. The only reason I am posting this review here is that Petmate owns Gamma2. What a WASTE. Sure, the rings snap on tight, but the lids don't screw down flush on the ring. No matter how tightly the lid is turned, there still remains enough play to even reveal the white gaskets! This is NOT air tight as advertised! What a WASTE. HOW DO I SEAL MY PRODUCTS NOW? That engineer should be fired.

I bought the gamma seal lid and thought that all my pet food would stay fresher. I just noticed that the screw on top has a huge crack in the shape of a Y in the center of the cover. The original label was glued to the center of the cover, and I never noticed the cracks until i noticed it from the inside. The plastic seemed very strong, but I did not expect it to crack like it did

Bought these a while back! Absolutely frustrating to put lid on pail. Tried a rubber mallet, tried jumping on it, tried pipe clamps, tried heating with a torch. I decided to remove gasket and slather with Vaseline to my surprise after removing gasket there was another gasket below. I ruined one pail pulling off the half attached gasket.

I'm glad this product exists, but it needs improvement. I use it mainly for holding chicken feed. You claim that it is "air tight," and maybe so, but it does allow rain to enter so the buckets have to be stored under some sort of shelter anyhow. Even though it has a polymeric gasket, that isn't enogh to stop leakage around the lid rim. When the chicken feed or mealworms, soldier fly larvae, etc., gets wet, it quickly molds. Moldy feed isn't safe for the chickies, so it has to be scattered on the ground for them to pick through, or thrown out. As for recommendation to others, it is really "yes and no."
