Portable gas tank

Not a bad product. I agree with the other review. Hose kinks easily and you can not get out the last quart or so of gas out. The nozzle is a pain with the safety latch release. I use it for my boat also and it is better than holding up other gas cans and pouring. I am going to modify mine with an air fitting to pressurize it slightly so I do not have to rely on hand pumping the nozzle or gravity feed delivery. My idea here don't patent it anybody. I will be buying a second one. I believe it is still a good product for the money.

Not as bad as many

Purchased container a few weeks ago and wanted to use it prior to the review. The container is nice and heavy, valves do not leak, nozzle is a bit tricky and can leave a puddle if you're not careful. It is almost impossible to get the last of the fuel out of the thing, even tilting you still leave some. The hose is carburetor grade and tends to kink if you're not careful. All that being said I did recommend it because looking around it is the best I could find for the money. With dock gas being as expensive as it is I use it for boat fueling and other misc. motors, works well for that.

Other means are better.

Instructions state: Do not transport in a vehicle. Do not transport in a pickup bed. How are you suppose to transport from a gas station to your home or other destination? I imagine it would look a little odd pulling behind your bicycle.

No, I do not recommend this product.

Doesn’t perform as expected

Disappointing that the container has to be lifted higher than what you are filling to work.

Kinda works, but not worth it

I bought one of these about 4 to 5 years ago. I wouldn't recommend it. It does the job, but not well. First off, it doesn't store 14 gallons usably. It's actually 13 and change, if I fill it to the brim (which you aren't supposed to). I guess because the hose outlet isn't at the very bottom of the gas can, so there's a certain amount of gas you can never get out, not even by tilting it. Second, it leaks from the valve where the hose connects. It didn't for the first couple years I owned it, and it's only maybe a couple drips a day, but it's enough to stain whatever surface it's sitting on and make a small mess. Third, the wheels barely work. For the longest time, they didn't work on mine at all, but I eventually figured out they put an extra washer on the axle at the factory. After fixing that, the wheels sort of turn, but with a lot of friction. Especially when it's hot and the can expands, putting extra friction on the wheels. Finally, it's just not that convenient. It's gravity feed, so you have to find some surface to set it on that's higher than the tank you are filling. And I think it weighs 80-90 pounds when full, so my wife can't even do it if she ever needed to. The spout on mine broke sometime over the winter, I guess some rain got in the mechanism and it froze or something. They sell replacement hoses, but honestly, it's not worth it. I'm just going to buy three regular 5 gallon gas cans.

No, I do not recommend this product.
