Q&As

Q: Can this be strapped to the tailgate of a UTV? I don't see any handles or other things to help strap this down. Please advise.

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: Thank you for reaching out. Please note that this sprayer is specifically designed to be mounted on the cargo rack of an ATV, and we do not recommend using it on a UTV tailgate. When filled, the 25-gallon tank weighs approximately 250 lbs, which significantly exceeds the weight capacity of most UTV tailgates and could cause structural damage to the gate or its hinges. For safety, this unit should only be used as intended on an ATV rack where the weight is properly supported. Additionally, please be aware that this unit requires the use of ratchet straps for secure mounting, which are not included with the sprayer.

Q: Can this be powered by my 72 volt Lithium battery that powers my UTV?

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: For your safety and the longevity of the equipment, do not connect this 12V pump directly to a 72V UTV battery. Doing so will immediately destroy the pump motor. This sprayer must be powered by a 12V source. The safest and easiest solution is to use a dedicated 12V lawn and garden battery.

Q: What size battery is recommended for use

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: Any 12V battery will work. The sprayer comes with a lead wire with alligator clips to attach to the 12V battery.

Q: I asked this question earlier. Wondering if I can change the plug so it works off the same plug as my firmco spreader since I have it hardwired to the back where the hitch is?

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: a response was left earlier regarding your questions: Just like your spreader, this sprayer will connect to your 12-volt source, whether the battery on your unit or a stand-alone battery. The lead wires are not interchangeable if that's what you're asking, as the 2-pin connections are different on each.

Q: Is there spot sprayer attachment available for this unit?

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: Will, thank you for your purchase of the 25-gallon ATV sprayer from Tractor Supply. You can use this sprayer as a spot sprayer, as well as using the boom on the back. You can either close the valve to the boom and disconnect the boom from the sprayer and just use it as a spot sprayer or if you wish, you can leave the boom connected, just close the valve to the boom and still use it for spot spraying.

Q: I have a 60” zero turn mower. Can I strap it onto the back of the mower or wouldni need to fabricate something to be able to mount it on there? And what power source is there for it

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: If you have a rack or a surface that you can strap the sprayer down on to, it should work, otherwise, you may need to fabricate something to mount it. We've had customers that use it with their zero turn mowers, but as to who they mount it, couldn't really say.

Q: Is there a boom included w/this sprayer?

1 Answer
  • Fimco Industries
A: Copa, yes there is a broadcast boom with the sprayer. The broadcast boom will have 3 nozzles and allow you to spray from one, two or all three nozzles, depending on your needs, giving you up to an approximately 30' spray swath.

Fimco 25 gal Boomless ATV sprayer.

This tank was easy to assemble. It had one small leak easily fixed from a fitting that was loose from the factory. The boomles nozzles will spray approximately 36 feet which is great for large fields. It only takes 10 minutes to spray 25 gallons but you cover a lot of ground with a UTV.

Waste of money

I have over 2000 acres of pasture land I run cattle on. I needed this sprayer for my ATV to spray out noxious weeds, needless to say on the first use the pressure gauge broke, I could only use 10-15 gallons of the spray due to the poor design of the pump drain tube being in the far corner rather than in the middle of the tank, and when I attempted to use the sprayer again the pump would no longer build up pressure. After flushing the system and cleaning all the strainers, I read a review on this same sprayer by another customer who complained of the pump gets wet it no longer operates correctly, I guess I should not have washed off my ATV and sprayer after my first use. Thank you Tractor Supply on being flexible with your return policy as I was past 30 days when I discovered this sprayer will not work. If your looking for a light duty around the house sprayer this may work, any kind of farm use you will regret buying this sprayer.

Decent sprayer, cheap plastic components

3 stars simply due to the included parts quality. Functionally the sprayer works ok. I had multiple things break before I even completed the water testing phase. 1. The cheap plastic ON/OFF valve at the bottom of the tank leaked heavily as soon as water was in the tank. I replaced it with a solid brass ON/OFF valve from the hardware store. 2. The cheap plastic pressure gauge supplied leaked internally and out onto the ground while in use. I replaced it with a solid stainless and brass glycerin filled gauge. The one supplied is not liquid filled and the needle bounced around 10-20 psi making it difficult to read pressure accuratley. 3. The nozzles are not great, they do "spray" but do not attomize the liquid well at all. It is more like small droplets than anything. That being said it does appear I acheived a total kill on the area I sprayed, but I would have liked to see better attomization. All in all it is a decent sprayer. Time will tell on longevity. Just plan on upgrading some of the cheap plastic parts used.. For the price I would like to have been more brass or stainless components used from the factory. I would have paid a bit more for it to have them rather then deal with the back and forth to the hardware store.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such a detailed review. First and foremost, we want to sincerely apologize for the issues you experienced right out of the box with the ON/OFF valve and the pressure gauge. You shouldn’t have had to make extra trips to the hardware store just to get through the water-testing phase. We did, however, want to provide some helpful insight regarding your note on the nozzles not "atomizing" the liquid. The 3-nozzle broadcast setup on this sprayer actually utilizes specialized boomless technology (X-Tender tips). They are specifically engineered not to atomize the liquid into a fine mist. Here is why: Drift Control: To achieve a wide, 15+ foot spray swath, the liquid has to travel a long distance through the air. If the nozzles atomized the liquid into a fine mist, the chemical would drift away in the slightest breeze before ever hitting the ground. Large Droplet Design: These nozzles are designed to create larger, heavier droplets. The physics of the heavier droplet gives it the momentum needed to travel the distance, penetrate the weed canopy, and hit the target safely and evenly. The fact that you achieved a total kill on your target area means the nozzles actually did exactly what they were engineered to do! We are glad that, after your upgrades, the sprayer is functioning well for you. If you ever need assistance or replacement parts in the future, please don't hesitate to reach out to our customer service team directly. We appreciate your business and your honest feedback! Good not great

The hand sprayer has a good pistol grip and a brass nozzle…though you can’t lock the sprayer in the on position so my hand got tired. The broadcast sprayer nozzles are plastic and do an adequate job but not precise. The pressure regulation manifold takes some practice but I figured it out by spraying water without herbicide. The rounded body of the tank made it hard to secure to my Kubota UTV.

Gary, thank you for your purchase of the 25-gallon ATV sprayer from Tractor Supply. Glad that for the most part you're happy with your new sprayer. We've heard that before about having a way to lock the sprayer in the on position, rather than the off position and it has been passed along. Thank you also for all your feedback, it will also be passed on. Happy spraying! FimcoInc
