I needed help controlling these pests around my yard, which has only about 1/2 acre cleared. I determined where the moles were entering my place from 2 bordering lots, north and east of my property lines. I was excited to receive delivery of my EMT and set it up same day. After several days of catching NOTHING, I decided to write the manufacturer an email to discuss terms for a return/refund. They were very agreeable, but asked a few questions, including my technique, location, and for a description of the tunnels where I was setting up. They informed me of some valuable info that I wasn't aware of - concerning the habitual behavior of my enemy. Once I understood a few things, I altered my technique and suddenly became VERY successful catching moles using this trap. I only have one trap, but it has been my "go-to" weapon of choice for mole control, One of the tid bits I learned is the depth of the tunnel area where I was setting the trap was too shallow. The trap could not operate its jaws for lack of clearance. I now use a rebar rod to poke the tunnel I am going to setup in. If the depth is not sufficient for the trap jaws to be able to operate without bottoming out, don't waste your time - it will not work. Sometimes, not finding sufficient depth prevented me from trapping - and even forced me to patiently tolerate a little more damage - until I finally located an area of the tunnel system having sufficient depth. When I set up in such an area, showing evidence of recent activity, I have ALWAYS successfully scored a kill within hours of setting up. I don't leave the trap set at any one location more than a day or so if it has not trapped a mole as yet. This is a fast operator if it is set "right" - per instructions - and in the right place with respect to their activity. - a Very good trap.

after 2 weeks and moving trap daily no mole has been caught my back yard has tunnels all over the place help me twice i saw the ground move up and i jammed a pichfork into the area still no luck
