- A: Hello Rose780, Please DO NOT attempt to burn this, or any unapproved item in your gas fireplace, even with the gas shut off. Wood-burning units are meant to hold wood, while gas-fueled units are meant to host gas. Mixing fuel types could lead to fire hazards, smoke back-up, and severe damage to your home/unit, and have the potential to cause bodily harm. Way better than the “Gold” Duraflames

They light easily and make a nice small fire. UNLIKE the supposedly premium Gold Duraflame logs in the black packaging. Those logs wouldn’t light and burn once the paper wrapper went out. I actually had to take a blowtorch to them to start them burning. It may have been a bad batch, but still… The regular Duraflame in the yellow wrapper work so much better.
