Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good clean burn I started using the Redstone wood fuel bricks this year and have been happy with them. I have a wood burning furnace that heats my house with gas forces furnace backup. I am happy with the heat quality and extremely happy with the cleanliness and ease of use of the bricks. I still use wood primarily, but really do enjoy the ease of use of the Redstone wood fuel bricks. Would consider them as primary heat fuel source if price was on point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Compressed Wood Fireplace bricks We started buying these a year to 2 years ago. We use one brick. Lights easily and lasts for several hours and provides a great source of heat on those cold winter periods that we get and is a great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice and clean Would buy again. A little hard to light, but once they get going, it lasts for a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 3 packs are great. I bought packages of the larger bricks to try and am repurchasing for the third time. They last well, are clean until you open the package. They are dense enlough so that 3 will last the night and provide enough to heat our 1700 sq. ft house over nightt in our wood stove. The saw dust flakes off the block if rubbed and there is a fair amount of saw dust in the packaging after using the 3 blocks. I estimate they are almost 1/2 of the cost of cord wood for the same amount of heat and more efficient to store. Am tempted to use mostly use these fuel blocks with just a little wood next year.

Can this product be used in a wood-burning furnace

Asked by: Nomercy733
Yes, Redstone Wood Fuel can be used in any similar application as typical cordwood firewood. They have no added resins, waxes, or other binders - only hardwood fibers and are more dry and will generally burn hotter due to their density and dryness.

How are they packaged, & wrapped? Are they individually shrink wrapped to stay dry, or are they packed loose in a box?

Asked by: UglyBoy55
These are shrink wrapped in packages of 6.

These wood bricks which are rated 9,000 - 14,000 btu/lb look very similar to the Redstone 3-pack wood bricks which are rated 8,800 btu/lb. Why are these two products rated so much different when it seems they are very similar except for the brick size?

Asked by: Wilumblack
The 6-pack bricks are 9,000-14,000BTUs for EACH brick. The 3-pack is listed as 8,800BTUs per pound.

Can you cut these bricks in half? I have a small wood burning stove and just started, only one brick fits in; 10"X5"X4" blocks. Do they come any smaller?

Asked by: BrianR
They do not come any smaller. Cutting the brick will not change the functionality except the cut side might cause them the burn a little faster.

Would it be possible to use one or two of these bricks in a wood burning fireplace instead of one of those duraflame logs? Would you get much of a flame or heat off just one burning log? Thank you.

Asked by: Drew123
Yes, these are intended for use in wood burning fireplaces or stoves. They will likely not light as quickly as the referenced Duraflame, but will do a fine job while putting out up to 14,000 BTUs per brick.

Can these brick be used in the National Parks for campfires within the designated fire rings? Park restrictions allow only USDA certified wood can be brought into the park.

Asked by: JanFA
Suggest contacting your local National park for approval. While product is not USDA approved, all of our material that is used to make the bricks is kiln dried which is heated a lot longer that the what the USDA requires for heat treated firewood.
