RedStone Wood Fuel, Pack of 6, ECOBRICK is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 133.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best product since sliced bread I have used a wood stove most of my life from the barrel and double barrel stoves to the new EPA stoves, When I was young I lived in New Brunswick Canada. We cut wood with a two-person saw, it was fast and less tiring than the old chain saws that vibrated so much your hands got numb. Yes, the eco-bricks seem expensive, until you add the cost of a chain saw, wood splitter(when I was young I spit with a maul). You need at least five acres of a wood lot if you want to burn wood year after year or you buy a pick load. Then there is cleaning the chimney more often, stoking the fire more often. Eco-bricks burn well and long and far less dirt un the house. My advice to anyone starting to use them the 6 pack are far better than the 3 pack, they are denser, less likely to crumble and burn better and hotter. ( I was told and it is hearsay that the three pack were meant for woodburning pizza ovens, have no idea if it is true). Other like. about Eco-bricks, they store inside, so no bugs, no going outside at to get wood at -20 F. Only two items that wood (pun intended) that would make a better product would be using paper wrapping instead of plastic, it would make for less garbage in the landfill and you could use the wrapping to light the bricks. The other sugestion is lower the price, Ha Ha

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Compact, little ash, and long burning I bought these as backup in case I ran out of firewood. I have used them to get a good hot fire started to start the catalytic converter on the fireplace insert stove.

What is the best way to lay the bricks to start a fire

Asked by: Toots75
Step 1: Place two Bricks parallel, roughly an inch apart. Step 2: Place a firestarter between the bricks. Step 3: Place two more Bricks across thetop, leaving a small gap between the two top bricks and carefully light the firestarter. These are an extremely dry, 100% hardwood product. For home heating, use only in a well maintained stove or fireplace and control air flow to prevent overheating and extend burn times. These will expand slightly when burning. Do not pack too closely to glass or top. DO NOT OVERFILL! Store only in a dry environment.

Can this product be used in a wood-burning furnace

Asked by: Nomercy733
Yes, Redstone Wood Fuel can be used in any similar application as typical cordwood firewood. They have no added resins, waxes, or other binders - only hardwood fibers and are more dry and will generally burn hotter due to their density and dryness.

How are they packaged, & wrapped? Are they individually shrink wrapped to stay dry, or are they packed loose in a box?

Asked by: UglyBoy55
These are shrink wrapped in packages of 6.

How long is the burn time on these bricks.

Asked by: Pjg69
Due to the wide variety of wood burning appliances and methods of use, we cannot publish a set burn time per package or individual briquette. In general, because they are approximately twice as dense & heavy, and much more dry, as split cordwood, they will burn significantly longer than a similar size piece of cordwood.

These wood bricks which are rated 9,000 - 14,000 btu/lb look very similar to the Redstone 3-pack wood bricks which are rated 8,800 btu/lb. Why are these two products rated so much different when it seems they are very similar except for the brick size?

Asked by: Wilumblack
The 6-pack bricks are 9,000-14,000BTUs for EACH brick. The 3-pack is listed as 8,800BTUs per pound.

Can these bricks be cut and have the same effect. They burn but it cuts the time on burning?

Asked by: Sapsucker
We do not make any recommendations other than the intended use for EnviroBrick, which is that they be burned as they are out of the package.

Can these be used in an outside wood burning stove?  I use mine to heat water and run it into the house for heat and domestic hot water.

Asked by: Shooter bob
This product can be used in any similar application as typical cord wood firewood. They have no added resins, waxes, or other binders - only hardwood fibers - and are more dry and will generally burn hotter due to their density and dryness. The amount of heat & flame is dependent on the size & type of fireplace or other wood burning appliance.
