- A: Doubtful. Gophers and moles are smaller and dig tunnels deeper under ground. This is meant to just keep dogs from digging a hole under a fence. It would probably keep out possums or armadillos since they are larger and don't dig as deep though.5 years agoHelpful?
Q: What would be the minimum recommended depth the barriers should be inserted into the ground? I have lots of different sized gaps under the fence and I plan on using different sized barriers depending on the gap size. I heard 4 or 5 inches is sufficient.

- A: Dig Defence is designed to keep animals from digging beneath a fence and getting out of your yard or having unwanted wild animals or neighbors pets from entering your yard. We had some gaps beneath our fence that were up to 4". We installed the Dig Defence units beneath our 6' privacy fence so they cover any gap and about 2" of the bottom of our fence. The remainder of each unit is down in the ground. We invested in several of these units in an effort to keep our neighbor's dogs in their backyard and prevent them from entering our yard. We then backfilled all gaps with dirt so the neighbor dogs can't see our dogs in our backyard. The installed depth needs to be determined by the purpose you wish the units to fulfill.5 years agoHelpful?

Purchased this set after having a new fence installed to prevent my basset hound from getting out when he smells wildlife they were easy to install. I use a small sledgehammer and a board to bang it into the ground so it would be level.
