Spilled Gas

I am disappointed with the performance of this transfer pump. I bought it some time ago (May 8) and finally got to use it the first time today.
- The first issue was the pump does not have auto shut off when the tank being filled is full. Other pumps advertised in this price range advertise their pumps have this feature. During the first time I used the pump I overflowed the tank being filled and spilled gas all over the engine and cement. It could be argued that it was my error in assuming the pump would shut off when the tank being filled was full but it was hard to see the level during filling and spilling gas on a hot engine could be considered a safety issue (thankfully mine was cold).
- The other issue was after I shut off the pump, the gas in the fill hose was retained in the hose and not transferred. When I pulled the hose out of the fill nozzle, the gas in the fill hose spilled out. I realize that if the fill hose was raised higher than the source tank before being pulled out of the filled tank, the gas in the hose would drain back into the source tank but it is not always possible to raise the whole gas powered piece of equipment higher than the source tank before removing the hose. Having a valve on the end of the fill hose would solve this problem. Unfortunately I have a future of spilled gas for each use.
- There was one thing that surprised me about the pump. The small battery power source did provide good as volume during the transfer,
