The showy deep maroon blossoms of this shrub last for 3-4 weeks. Their spicy strawberry, banana-pineapple fragrance peaks in late afternoon and early evening when the flowers fully open. Q: Can you use pods or divide to start other plants?

- A: Sweet Shrub produces suckers at the base of the plant which may be dug up and transplanted, preferably in early spring. They may be planted in good soil in garden beds or in pots to get the roots established. Keep the soil around them slightly moist until they become established.6 years agoHelpful?

Starting to Blossom

I bought this plant last year 2019 and planted it in my flower garden. Lots of TLC given to it all season. And this year, she has really taken off! Lots more leaves and is growing quickly, buds are appearing, can't wait til they open and smell them. Don't give up on this plant, it's Beautiful. Going to purchase another one and plant it in another section. Have patience with these plants and the rewards are AWESOME!!

Good so far

I LOVE sweet shrubs, they smell SOO good & remind me of my childhood. I was so happy to see TSC had these for a great price! Unfortunately, they weren't in stock at my store, so I had to drive about 45 minutes to the next closest store. They were worth the drive. I bought 2 of them a few weeks ago & promptly potted them in well-draining soil. So far, one is taking off but I'm sure the other will catch up soon. So very excited to finally have my own & that I got them for a good price!

Purchased my plant from Tractor Supply was just a stick and roots and within a few weeks leave appeared and is doing well went back and purchase three more
