Dead bud

When I opened the box the amaryllis bulb had already started growing. The leaves and the bud were white and completely bent over. I had to cut that off and plant the bulb into the mix. It took couple of weeks before leaves started to grow again. It's now growing but will not bloom this year. Someone should have looked in the box and sent me one that didn't have a bud already growing. I'm so completely disappointed with my purchase - I'm disabled and was so looking forward to spending the long winter days with watching this to flower. If only someone had looked into the box.

This may happen while waiting for their forever home. They can turn a lighter color or even white because they have not had exposure to the sun. Second Chance

I bought two boxes on clearance rack, YES they were growing inside the box. But wanted to give them a chance. I took home and planted right away.
Next day they appear to moving in an upright position. Their color is faded but MAYBE they will thrive and be beautiful.
Yes, I recommend this product.

Needs minimal maintenance, SO don’t forget about the amaryllis plant, as it will grow out of the box if you wait to pot it.
