Great Foam

This is the best spray foam I've ever used. No fuss, no must. The problem is I can't seem to get it anywhere. I'm in the Halifax, NS. Canada area. Any suggestions?

I used this product to seal around my door frame. Now that it has cured I was wondering what all the white sand like particles were on my carpet. I found out when this is touched it turns to a fine sand like particle. Seems very easy for any type of critter to get through and won't do the job very long. I've only had it in place for about 3 months but I wonder how long it will actually last. Great that it doesn't keep expanding and easy to clean up but it doesn't seem to be doing the job.

Thank you for posting your feedback. We're sorry to see your low star review on DAPtex Plus Multi-Purpose Foam Sealant. DAPtex Plus is a low pressure/low density spray in place insulation. When cured, DAPtex Plus has sponge-like consistency (not a rigid texture as with other foam formulas). Based on your commentary indicating: "when this is touched it turns to a fine sand like particle", friable (dry/crumbly texture) can result from application at low temperature (application in cold air temperatures and/or cold application surfaces) and/or application of the product where proper blending (shaking of the can) did not occur. DAP offers a full range of both one and two component polyurethane foam products, with dense/rigid setting characteristics. At your convenience, please contact DAP's Technical Customer Service Department at 888-327-8477 so that we can obtain some additional information from you regarding your project requirements, so that we can recommend an alternative product more in line with your needs/expectations.

Foam caulking works great.

Easy to work with. Doesn't over expand. Easy clean up. For deeper cracks a couple of layers worked very well and controllable.

What I REALLY like about this product is that you can clean it up with water and soap. The polyurethane stuff is so caustic that you practically have to wear a space suit to use it, and if you get it on you, it's on until your skin wears away. You also have to be more careful around carpets, furniture, etc. because it's near-impossible to remove--you need acetone to do a good job. You still need to keep DAPtex off you, but it's much milder.
