Dap 18304 10.3 oz. Clear 230 Dynaflex Elastomeric Latex Sealant, 6397

Bad product. It smeared and dissolved after a rain storm

I've been using this brand for a few years now. When I converted a small barn to a shop the ceiling was covered in galvanized roof metal. The Dap #230 I purchased at the lumber yard was used to fill the gaps along where the wall an ceiling meet. It sealed and adheres to the different material very good. What I also like is that you dont have to plug the tip after opening the tube to keep the caulk from solidifying and wasting a tube if you dont use it up right away. I forgot to do that and a few days later I came back and used the tube with no problem after forgetting to tape the tube tip. This brand and specific product is now my go to product for any caulking needs.

This product is exceptionally easy to place and shape quickly and evenly. It dries without unexpected shrinkage or sagging; it has replaced most situations where I would have used pure silicone previously. It's excellent for sealing countertops to walls, and similar intersections with a variety of different materials, including masonry and metal. Superb workability in borderline temperatures.

Since discovering this product we have switched almost exclusively to Dynaflex 230. As professional cabinetmakers we use dozens of tubes in a year to finish our work to walls and floors. The product is easy to use, easy to clean, will still work a month or so after opening it (must be unclogged) and most of all, is superior to the Alex product (also by DAP) since it resists mould when left unpainted - the Alex turns grey after a year or so. We also use it as an adhesive in some instances.
