Good idea for tracking hours for service but should have been included from the factory!
I installed it (plug and play) even before I turned the key. I've only got 2 hours on the machine and it seems to work fine. One problem I have is seeing the readout. The LED is only about 1/4" high and hard to read in the daylight.
If you plan on getting one of these look around for pricing. After purchasing from TSC I found the MTD model (same part) for a few bucks less.
All in all a good purchase.

Easily installed but ...

The meter seems to work fine. The decal provided with the meter did not match the panel on my mower so I reinstalled the original decal and cut a hole into it using a razor blade for the meter. Fortunately, I removed the original decal carefully and retained it.
I agree with other reviewers that stated that I am disappointed that this was not included as a base feature on the mower when it was purchased.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It works great, easy to nostalgic, the only difficult part was to get the blade switch and ignition switch out to install the new decal, I ended up leaving the blade switch in. The wiring is there, it’s really a plug and play. Seems like it would come with an hour meter installed from the factory!
