Not for picking up sweet gum balls

I purchased this for picking up sweet gum balls. It will work you to death! Using a leaf rake is much faster and less labor intensive. I returned it. I can see how it probably does a better job on pecans and other nuts but spiked sweet gum balls…no bueno.

I bought this to see if it would be better than picking up oak acorns. While it is cleaner than using a rake and a shopvac, there is nothing quick about it. I can get three, paper grocery sacks filled, with a rake and my shopvac. In the same time as 1/3 of one sack, with this. Many times i noticed it leaving acorns, and several times dropping acorns while picking up one. Like the title says, it does keep a child occupied. However, oyou are looking to get a job done, look elsewhere.
No, I do not recommend this product.
