Q: Is this tool good for picking softer fruit? I will be harvesting persimmons soon and need to be able to get the fruit at the top of the trees. Persimmons are soft and can be damaged quite easily.

1 Answer
  • A: Yes, it can be used for persimmons and softer fruits. The prongs don't go all the way around the basket, they are only on one side. To use it, you hook the fruit between the prongs and gently pull and the fruit will fall down into the basket, where there is a cushion to prevent bruising.

Works great for hard to reach fruit

I got this for use at my aunt’s house, where they have pears, peaches and pecans. They have some tall pecan trees and the extra reach comes in very handy. It has worked well for two years and I definitely recommend it.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Works, but not for figs

The fruit picker is sturdy and reaches to the top of my tree with no issue. The only reason I have not given it a higher rating is because I bought it for my fig tree and the figs are too small and soft to work with the fruit picker.
