In the world of composters, you have two basic choices: Bins and Tumblers. Compost Bins typically hold more than Compost Tumblers but must be aerated constantly. Tumblers aerate easily but usually don't hold as much material. The Good Ideas Compost Wizard solves both of these shortcomings. Its massive drum is one of the largest on the market, and handholds allow you to grip and roll the composter, eliminating the need for a complex or clunky system. The low profile keeps it from blowing over in high winds, helps keep it out of sight, and makes it convenient for loading and unloading material. The Compost Wizard's drum can be leveraged off the base and rolled to your desired location which means no heavy lifting! And the 16 in. twist lid makes access easy while also sealing in precious compost tea and keeping out animals. Fresh compost can be made in as little as 3 weeks. The Compost Wizard comes completely assembled so you can start composting immediately.

For additional information on this product, please see the Product Documents section for all downloadable user manuals, installation guides, brochures and warranty statements.

Good but not Cheap

Ok, I have owned mine for two years now and have had good success with it. The reason I am writing is to offer suggestions to people that have been having trouble. First thing this is plastic, if it gets too hot it might deform. Second plastic gets brittle with age so the first thing I did was spray everything with black paint made for plastic to protect it. Third, I took concrete blocks and stacked them to make a base for the composter to get it off the ground and about waist high to make it easier to turn. Lastly I agree about the vent holes being too close to the outside edge of the drum, but I have found its only a problem if you put too much water in to keep the compost damp. Compost should not be wet! only damp! if you are adding water and its flooding out those holes, your adding too much water!

Junk Junk Junk

The plastic this product is made from is NOT UV stable. The unit I purchased had been displayed outside for some period of time before I took it home. It lasted 1 month with a half load before it cracked where it rested on the undersized rollers. By the time I cleaned it out and returned it to Tractor Supply it looked like it fell out of the back of a truck with numerous cracks and holes. Unbelievable that any company would put their name on this.

Wizard Compost Bin

I was charged $20.00 more than the price sticker on the item. The price was on the same sticker as the SKU. They reimbursed me the difference. It was the last one in stock. We had it less than 10 days when we noticed a crack in the bin. They had to order another to replace it. The crack is growing daily. The replacement should be here soon.

Most Durable Composter

We purchased our second Senior Compost Wizard from Tractor Supply to add composting capacity to our large gardens. Over the years, we've used many other rotating composters and compost bins, giving us the opportunity to use and form opinions about what might be the best for us in the long term. When we brought this unit home, the only change we made was to replace the steel bolts holding the rollers with stainless 5/16 x 3 inch steel bolts, as the originals will rust and prevent the rollers from turning. As more of our other compost bins and tumblers fail, they will be replaced with the Senior Compost Wizard... I hope they are still available in the future!

Yes, I recommend this product.
