Easily collect your kitchen scraps for your composting bin with the Exaco ECO Kitchen Compost Pail with replaceable carbon filters. This countertop compost pail collector is also designed to hang from 2 screws or hooks on the inside of a cabinet door under the sink, if desired. The carbon filter of this compost pail significantly reduces organic odors while compost is collecting. As much as 30% of household waste can be composted and should not be sent into a landfill -composting is the answer - and using the compost pail is a most practical way to collect all your organic waste. The compost pail is made of high density polyethylene, so it will last a very long time.

Q&As

1 - 5 of 5 Questions

Q: Do the Riverstone 2.4 gal. Maze Corn Bags work with this bucket?

1 Answer
  • A: Hello, thank you for your question. Per the vendor, "We have not tested these particular compostable bags with the ECO 2000 pail. The capacity matches and it looks like the Maze bags 15” high. The Eco 2000 bucket slightly under 12” tall. So looking at these measurements, it seems as though it should work. In the past, we have also used the Biobag 3 gallon size which worked well."

Q: When you flip open the lid, is it possible to lock it upright so it stays open or does it just flip all the way back? Not sure if I can explain this properly.

  • A: If you just lift the lid back to open, it simply falls all the way back down atop or on the back of the Pail. MINE DOES NOT LOCK UPRIGHT unless I lean it in such a manner on a higher surface slightly behind the Pail. However, if you first raise up the handle behind the lid/Pail and then flip open the lid to the back, the handle can serve to 'lock' the lid almost parallel to the Pail's top, by catching on the back of the filter frame atop the Compost Pail's lid. There must about 17" clearance space from the front of the Pail to the back to allow enough space for the locked lid.

Q: This is my 1st composter & I'm not sure what to put in to start it from scratch (no directions & I'm clueless!). Does there need to be specific measurements of nitrogen, carbon, and organic materials or do I just throw in all my veg/fruit/coffee scraps?

Great size and shape

Haven't found anything better. Good while it lasts. This is our third one-handle keeps breaking where it meets bucket. Fits nicely under sink. Like dark green color, blends in when have to leave on counter.

Checks All The Boxes

This compost pail checks all the boxes. It has a lid that can be opened with one hand, a handle for carrying it to the outdoor composter, and an easy to install filter. It's big enough to hold a week's worth of kitchen scraps. And it has never developed a bad smell.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Compost pail for countertop

Ordered on-line and delt with the consequences of dealing with Grant the one responsible for receiving shipments at the Lodi, CA store. I was caught up in a he said she said story. The order was placed on the 19th of December and first attempt to deliver was on the 27th. I went into the store after receiving an email stating my orders were ready for pick up. I drive 20+ minutes to pick up the items and the item supposedly delivered on the 27th was not there. Story goes; UPS tried to delivery this item 3 times before it was finally received. Each time the receiver did not respond to the delivery driver to accept delivery in a timely manner. Driver may have assumed the store was closed due to lack of response. Grant insists it is the fault of UPS, and I was the one who needed to follow up with UPS. Grant opened my item and resealed the package before I received the order. He told me it was because he didn't trust anyone. I finally received the order on the 4th and had questions for Grant regarding packaging being opened and delivery issues. He seemed to not like my questions and became increasingly negative. As a customer I expect a certain amount of transparency with my transactions and if I have a question, I don't expect to have to deal with a less than professional employee.

No, I do not recommend this product.
