Q&As

1 - 3 of 3 Questions

Q: How do you clean the generator on the stove?

1 Answer
  • A: Howdy neighbor! To clean your Coleman stove's generator, you need to cool the stove, depressurize the tank, and remove the generator tube and its internal needle rod. Once removed, soak the tube and spring in carburetor cleaner, then gently scrub away black carbon soot from the rod using 0000 fine steel wool. After flushing the pieces clean, carefully reassemble the parts and tighten the brass nut to enjoy a steady, bright flame once again!

Q: can denatured alcohol be used as fuel,, this is one of those you got to be kidding questions but have to ask.

1 Answer
  • A: Hi Peter, Thanks for your questions, and glad you asked! Denatured alcohol can not be used as fuel in this camp stove. We only recommend Coleman fuel, also known as White gas (naphtha) fuels or unleaded gasoline, for the Coleman Guide Series® Compact Dual Fuel Stove.

A portable stove that you can actually cook on

Stove works well, essentially the same as the older models, which is a good thing. Simmers well, not too loud and works well with medium to larger pans. Pre- heating with a tiny bit of fuel or fire starting paste on top of the burner is essential for successful cold weather operation. This one of the best compact stoves for actually cooking on. Very glad that Coleman resumed production of this model.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Great little burner and fuel lasts for days!

Purchased one back in the ‘70s and it is still going strong. Still has all original parts! Oil the pump leather and that’s it. Just loaned it to my grandson for a two week trip and he loved it. We did a lot of camping with our kids and this little guy boiled my water every morning for my hot tea. Great for small pan cooking Going to buy this new version one for my grandson.

Yes, I recommend this product.

A little heavy but It won't fail you.

I have used these stoves for many years backpacking. They are virtually indestructible. One tank of white gas easily last a weekend but a small aluminum bottle for refills wil last you extended trips. . The down side is they are heavy when it comes to pack light backpacking. With that said I know it's gonna work unlike butane/propane stoves in the rain, snow ect..
