Clomipramine HCL tablets are a non-sedating medication used to reduce anxiety symptoms in dogs. These tablets are an effective treatment for canine separation anxiety as part of a behavioral management plan. Clomipramine may also help reduce inappropriate barking, eliminate urination or defecation, and address destructive behaviors.How it Works

Clomipramine Hydrochloride Tablets belong to the dibenzazepine class of tricyclic antidepressants. Clomipramine hydrochloride reduces the clinical signs of separation anxiety by affecting serotonergic and noradrenergic neuronal transmission in the central nervous system.

Special Precautions

Keep away from children and animals. There are some medicines that should not be used with Clomipramine Hydrochloride Tablets. DO NOT use in conjunction with the Preventic collar or Anipryl (selegiline) tablets. Always consult your veterinarian before giving any medicine to your pet. The use of Clomipramine Hydrochloride Tablets is not authorized in breeding dogs. In dogs with cardiovascular dysfunction, epilepsy, narrow angle glaucoma, reduced gastrointestinal motility or urinary retention, Clomipramine Hydrochloride Tablets should be given with caution and only after an assessment of the benefit risk ratio.

Side Effects

Clomipramine tablets have been proven to be well tolerated by dogs. The following adverse reactions have been reported: lethargy/depression, elevation in liver enzymes, vomiting, diarrhea, and increased thirst. Since the most common side effect is vomiting, it may help to give your dog Clomipramine Tablets with food.

Storage

Store in a dry place at controlled room temperature, between 59° and 86° F (15-30° C). Store unused tablets in the original closed container.
