Side Effects

While Doxepin has a lower risk for adverse cardiac effects than several other tricyclic medications, some cases of ventricular arrhythmias have occurred, especially following an overdose. Notify your veterinarian if your pet exhibits any unusual behavior or side effects after Doxepin treatment.

Tips

If you forget to administer a dose, give it as soon as you remember and wait the usual amount of time between doses. As an alternative, you can skip the missed dose and give it at the next regularly scheduled time, then return to the usual dosing schedule. Never administer two doses at one time or administer extra doses.
