Q: Can a rodent chew through this trap? I caught one in a different trap and within a few short hours it chewed through the trap and escaped.

- A: Unless the welds are broken - the rats cannot chew through the powder coated wire. Large predators from the outside can - (opossum or racoon, dog etc). We suggest placing the trap in dark area against a wall or under hay pending where you place the trap. Empty the trap as soon as possible3 days agoHelpful?
Q: I’m not understanding how multiple rats can get in without any escaping. How is that possible. Do you have a video showing how this works?

Q: what is the best way to clean the Ratinator after using it? I caught about 10 rodents and some have been eating the others so it is very messy and I need to clean it. How do I do that?

- A: For cleaning the Ratinator after use, we recommend wearing gloves and using caution when handling the trap. Remove any remaining debris, then wash the trap with warm water and a mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to dry completely before reuse. Avoid using harsh chemicals or cleaners that could leave residues that may deter rodents from entering the trap. Results were unfathomable!

I studied reviews on this trap before buying, and while mixed, they were mostly favorable so I took the bait (pardon the pun).
We had a serious Norway rat problem around our chicken coops, with the little scoundrels successfully tunneling routes into all of the runs. Following the guidelines of the instructions, we set the trap with all doors locked open for the first three nights, allowing the rats to get accustomed to going into the trap for food. Also during the night hours, we removed all the chicken feed from the feeders so the only food source would be what was in the trap (also common chicken feed pellets).
On day four, we closed the escape door and released the trap door so it could function.....our results were astounding. Just shortly after dusk, we noticed that at least four rats were captured, and with the trap makers boasting that it could catch up to 21 rats, we were hopeful. At 5am the next morning, I checked the trap again before leaving for work. Inside the trap were a bunch of scurrying rats of biblical proportions, far too many to count. When all was said and done, the trap had successfully caught 34.....yes, 34 rats on the first night, all in one setting.
Due to the overwhelming results of this trap, it gets a five star rating from us!

Rats are too sophisticated for the simple entry port. Within 30 minutes they had figured out how to let themselves right back out.

This. Thing. Works. Tired of hearing rats around the chicken coop when closing them up for the night.Also getting ready to move chicks out and rats will kill them if they can get in, which they always can. I bought one of these yesterday, you were supposed to set it for a few days with the door tied open, but i was too impatient for that. So I just set it with some sweet feed from my horse in the bait area.
Came out this morning to 20- 30 rats in the trap- I was shocked and disgusted all at once. All sizes were in there and did not get out as some of the reviews complain about. They were humanely dispatched and I set the trap again today and we will see if anyone goes in tonight. I figure I will up the ante on snacks each night and see what happens, but pretty sure my baby chicks will be safer now, and the whole coop will be healthier and I will get more eggs.

We placed the Ratinator in the middle of our chicken coup hoping to catch one or two rats. By morrning we had 9 rats worked so well. This also helps to keep the snakes away with no rats to eat
