Also called a New Mexico or California Chile, this green, Chile-type, mildly hot pepper ripens to a pretty deep red. The thick-walled fruit is the classic pepper used for Chile's rellenos, soups, and stews. Rich, mellow flavor. Plants bear continuously through summer, where nighttime temperatures aren't higher than 90. Most widely grown variety used to make ristras, originating as a practical way for farmers to cure peppers. Disease resistant. Maturity: 74-days to 80-days.

  • Thick-walled fruit used for Chile's rellenos, soups, and stews
  • Used to make ristras--strings of dried chili peppers
  • Grows well in containers
  • Heavy producer of mildly hot peppers
  • Bonnie Plants has over 70 greenhouses across the country, so our plants dont have to travel far to get to you

The BEST

I like heat, and these can either be mildish or full of heat depending on how dry the summer gets. I don't really plant any other peppers anymore...just the Chiles! WHEN ARE THEY COMING TO THE EAST COAST THIS SEASON!??!

Yes, I recommend this product.

Abundant Mildly Hot Chile Peppers

Anaheims and Chili De Arbols are the only spicy chili peppers that I grow at my age now. Anaheim are a milder heat of chili peppers. About the same heat as Poblano-Ancho chilies. I use them in my chili w/ pinto beans, my gumbos, etc. Chili De Arbols are hotter, but I can tolerate only one or two in my fresh salsas, jerk seasoning, & the rest, I make hot pepper jelly with. Gone are the daredevil days of me enjoying the searing heat of habaneros, cow horn cayenne, and Carolina Reapers. Anaheim pepper plants are hardy & resistant to disease. They are also very prolific. You can enjoy them green or red. Perfect amount of heat without blowing your head off.

Yes, I recommend this product.

Smoked Anaheim

If you can smoke your Anahime Peppers, it will increase flavor. Remove the skin and enjoy.

Yes, I recommend this product.
