Good ingredients but kibbles are too big and hard

I'm rating this food as excellent for the quality ingredients and for not using corn or wheat like every other kidney diet I found. HOWEVER... The kibble size is way too large and they're way too hard to chew which requires a good soaking in warm water. I have a senior Lab with good teeth, but she has difficulty eating this food if it isn't softened.

Sadly, my two dogs would not eat it. They are picky. Unfortunately, the one diagnosed with kidney disease passed away a few days after receiving the food. Diagnosis was wrong. It was tumor on his prostate or bladder causing him to be unable to pass urine.

My pup would not eat this. Kimble was pretty big and considering kidney challenge dogs are older and may also have issues with teeth, should make kibble easier to chew???
