- A: Hi, Thanks for reaching out. We do not carry any of the older style gas cans. The primary goal of the EPA redesign was to reduce the leakage of gasoline fumes into the air. The older gas can spouts were a flexible straw design, and this was incredibly easy to pour from. They may have also been leading to the evaporation of gas into the atmosphere. Therefore 99% of what is on the market now, are the newer style cans.2 years agoHelpful?

REPLACE THE SPOUT

All of the bad reviews have one thing in common: the spout. Unfortunately, in 2007, the government mandated these self-sealing spouts on all new gas cans. Thankfully, you can still buy good old fashioned spouts online to replace them.

Horrible design

Why couldn't we just leave gas cans alone and let idiots kill themselves? This has to be the worst design of a gas can the world has ever seen...and why? Because of lawyers. You know what, I'd rather sign a waiver and buy an old school gas can than have to deal with some idiotic design that doesn't work.

Handle seam split so as soon as you tilt it and you’re fighting with the green release handle portion, fuel comes out of the handle

Worst gas can ever!!

Worst gas can ever. Spout mechanism didn’t work from the get go. Had to take the spout off to be able to pour the gas out of the can!! Useless!! Obviously designed by a man, for a man!! Idiots!!

Horrible Design

This gas can is horrible. Good luck pouring it into anything by yourself. It states to press and hold the red safety tab, then physically push the entire spring-loaded spout downward against the edge of your fuel tank. It’s just too much of a hassle to deal with especially trying to do all this at once with a full gas can. When I went to pour the gas into my lawnmower the gas started leaking from where the cap screws on all over the place. Gas didn’t come out of the spout, but managed to come out from the cap.
No, I do not recommend this product.
