Powerful, easy assembly and preparation.

All packed up on the shipping pallet this is one beastly heavy item. Once I got it home and positioned it in the garage, I took out the instruction books for a quick review. They were well written and easy to follow. I laid out all the pieces-parts for easy access and was done adding the support feet, wheels, adding the oil to the engine and connecting the battery and paired the remote start fob within 20 minutes. So much easier to roll around on the wheels. I had a full propane tank available and chose to use the propane mode for the first run. Quick and easy hookup. Followed the directions for selecting the propane mode. Hit the start button on the gen-set panel and it started within a couple seconds. It stabilized quickly. Initially I used the 120 VAC, 20 Amp with a quartz heater and a drop light to test for power. No output! I checked the 20 Amp outlets and no voltage, circuit breakers set OK, yet the panel said 242 Volts should be available. I then tested the 30- and 50-Amp plugs, which had proper voltages. Then I noticed the 120 VAC, 20 Amp plugs were labeled as GFCI, so I felt the switches on the plugs and pushed - CLICK - green light. All is well. I added a couple items to lightly load the system, and the power was immediately obvious. Then removed the load and went through the shutdown procedure. Next step was to acquaint myself with the remote start and shut down processes. Very intuitive. More load tests, then a shut down and restart for practice. Now for moving up to the gasoline mode. Added some fresh 87 octane gasoline and set the switches and valves to the respective positions. Decided to try the remote start first. The engine took only a couple seconds and fired right up and quickly stabilized. Load testing and start/shutdown procedures were accomplished for several cycles. Did not skip a beat. Very happy so far. Now, with a gen interlock installed at the house I am ready for the next power outage with a quick connect and not having to pull out appliances and run numerous extension cords to critical circuitry. The well, sump pump, water heater, refrigerators and communication/technology can be used. With judicious switching of the higher power circuits, we can include some heaters by manually balancing loads as needed, I was surprised as to the quietness of this unit. My old Generac 5000 and newer Champion lower output models are significantly louder. Overall, at this time, this Westinghouse 14500/11500 model far exceeds my expectations for power, quality and ease of use.

Yes, I recommend this product.
