It works as advertised

This is my second chimney starter. Sometimes I use this in tandem with the other one depending on what I'm cooking. They work great. The holes in the side make it easy for the fire to breathe and feed on oxygen. Overall, great product.

Works well but not big enough

I was surprised that it didn't hold more charcoal. I have a Weber barbecue and it is barely enough to cover the bottom of my barbecue and at times was unable to get to a high enough temperature to cook my meat.

We purchased this as a gift for our daughter who can't stand the taste of lighter fluid used to start charcoal. This chimney starter came HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by a friend of ours who is a grilling aficionado. She said this unit (Weber Rapidfire) not only works the best of all the units she's tried, but also last FAR LONGER! The Weber is well built with substantial materials, so I suspect that it will live up to the recommendation.
